Amels are built by a family firm based in La Rochelle. Henri Amel the firm founder has a philosophy-build everything at the start; there is only one way the Amel way. So there is no way you get other than the standard Amel. So it comes with electric winches, generator,water maker, bow thruster-working sails, a staysail and a balloona.
Makoko was refitted in Thailand and has many extras, dual auto pilot, solar panels, prop drive, generator and two entirely seperate anchoring systems.
